VERMEFÓS Nutrition that moves the land.

VERMEFÓS is a Brazilian animal-nutrition company: mineral and vitamin supplementation for cattle, sheep and goats, built for the reality of Brazilian livestock farming.

Manifesto

The land doesn't take promises. It takes results.

Results come from a well-nourished herd.

Nutrition isn't salt in the trough. It's science, mineral by mineral.

It's knowledge, balance and consistency. Every day.

VERMEFÓS exists to turn nutrition into productivity. And productivity into a future for those who live off the land.

Pillars

What VERMEFÓS believes in

Nutrition

What pasture alone cannot give.

Salt in the trough does not correct what is missing in the grass.

In mature tropical pasture phosphorus is the first to run short, and in the dry season (seca) the rest falls with it. Supplementing means replacing it in the right measure: calcium and phosphorus in a balanced ratio, cobalt so the rumen microflora can synthesise vitamin B12, trace minerals in milligrams, working as enzyme cofactors. Salt is what regulates intake at the trough.

What is missing sets the ceiling, not what is plentiful: the herd performs only as far as the scarcest mineral allows.

From the soil to the troughHow much the pasture is shortSee the measurements

Grass does not make minerals. It takes from the soil what the soil has, and passes on what it managed to take.

Where the soil is acid and short on phosphorus, the grass comes out short. And the animal grazes all day without closing the gap.

  • Calcium
    The pasture
    0.26 to 0.46 %
    The requirement
    0.19 to 0.33 %

    The pasture delivers.

  • Phosphorus
    The pasture
    0.13 to 0.17 % in the wet season · 0.09 to 0.12 % in the dry
    The requirement
    0.12 to 0.20 %

At the edge in the wet season. Below it in the dry.

  • Sodium
    The pasture
    43 to 99 mg/kg
    The requirement
    600 to 1,000 mg/kg

The pasture does not deliver. And the animal keeps no reserve.

Each row has its own scale. Values on a dry-matter basis.

Values measured by Embrapa in six grasses between 1987 and 1991: five fell between 43 and 99 mg/kg of sodium, Brachiaria humidicola was far above. The requirements come from the same publication, compiled from the NRC. Embrapa Gado de Corte, Documentos 114, 2001

This is research measurement, not your pasture. In the Northeast the soil changes within the same farm: Embrapa records deep sandy soils a short distance from shallow clay soils.

The Brazilian land

Built for the reality of the Brazilian countryside.

From the sertão of the Northeast to the great grazing regions, Brazilian livestock farming runs on results.

VERMEFÓS was born from that reality: roots in the Northeast, a national calling.

Our story

Sustainability starts with the right dose

We hold no green label and offer no ready-made speech: we make daily decisions on formulation, packaging and dealing that prevent waste and respect the people who live off the land.

  • Dose and disposalMinerals fed to the right level stay out of the soil; the packaging has a proper route.
  • Straight talkingTechnical information before a sale, and fair dealing and pay on time with everyone who works with us.
  • Herd without gapsSupplementation to cover what the pasture lacks, as the label states, with no push to overfeed.

Level of activity by region

From the sertão to Brazil's big producing regions.

We were born in the Northeast, where our gate is open. From here we are reaching the regions that drive Brazilian production, from the semi-arid to the great pasture areas.

  • NordesteHome ground In the semi-arid, pasture stays dry for much of the year and the mineral content of the grass falls with it. This is where VERMEFÓS began and where our presence runs deepest, at the trough for cattle, sheep and goats.
  • Centro-OesteGrowing reach Cerrado pasture on phosphorus-poor soil, with a long dry season (seca) between the rains (águas). VERMEFÓS is growing here, alongside dry-season supplementation for grazing beef cattle.
  • SudesteNew fronts Dairy regions with high-yielding cows and more intensive systems, alongside growing and finishing cattle. A new front for VERMEFÓS, with work under way among dairy and beef producers.
  • SulFront opening up Cold winters, a forage gap between pastures, and dairy herds and sheep flocks on smaller holdings. A front opened recently, with VERMEFÓS gaining ground farm by farm.
  • NorteEarly rollout High heat and humidity all year, extensive pasture and long distances to the trough. Work here is only being set up, with the first steps reaching producers in the region.

Message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you how we serve your region and what already reaches you.
